Nicola Peltz Beckham accepted the Rising Star Award at the 25th Kineo Awards in Venice on Saturday, thanking her husband Brooklyn Beckham and her family in an emotional speech during the film festival.
An Emotional Acceptance Speech
“Hi everyone. I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me,” Peltz said in her speech, according to thenews.com.pk. She thanked her parents, brothers and Brooklyn for “always believing in her,” adding that their support was the reason she was able to “reach to the stars.”
The Kineo ceremony, an independent event that has run alongside the Venice Film Festival since 2002 without official affiliation to it, honored Peltz for her performance in the independent drama “Prima,” in which she stars alongside veteran actress Faye Dunaway, according to Archyde.
Beckham Supports Her Through the Night
Brooklyn, 27, helped guide his wife onto the small podium at the ceremony and stood by her side throughout, according to Archyde. The couple later appeared together on the red carpet ahead of a screening of “It Will Happen Tonight” at the festival, with Brooklyn kissing Nicola on the cheek in an affectionate display, according to Yahoo Entertainment.
Peltz’s father, billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, along with her mother Claudia and brother Bradley, were also present to watch her receive the honor.
A Growing Filmmaking Career
The Kineo Awards recognized Peltz for her work as an actress, director, writer and producer, describing her as having attracted growing international attention through increasingly multifaceted roles both in front of and behind the camera, according to Just Jared. Peltz previously wrote, directed and starred in her self-funded directorial debut “Lola” in 2024.
Peltz has appeared in projects including “The Last Airbender,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” “Bates Motel” and “Welcome to Chippendales” over the course of her acting career.
Peltz singled out Dunaway, 85, as a source of inspiration during her speech, saying she valued the opportunity to learn from the veteran actress while filming “Prima” together. The recognition adds to a year in which Peltz has continued expanding her presence in the industry beyond acting, taking on writing, directing and producing roles alongside her more traditional on-screen work.
