God of War Ragnarok contains a funny Easter egg that establishes PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a crossover fighting game released in 2012, as canon to the mythical action series.
The newly released sequel from Santa Monica Studios has Kratos and his demigod son Atreus fighting their way through Norse mythology once more. God of War Ragnarok makes a startling allusion to the fact that Kratos may also be controlled by the player in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
According to Press Start, Kratos and Mimir discuss the Ghost of Sparta’s involvement in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. While sledding around Midgard, Mimir asks Kratos about an old tournament he once competed in, setting off a hilarious chain of events.
Kratos says the battle included “beasts, scoundrels, princesses, the undead, automatons, and history’s finest musician,” but he won’t say more.

A discussion on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and its playable characters like Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Fat Princess from PaRappa the Rapper, and PaRappa from PaRappa the Rapper, as confirmed in a Press Start interview with Narrative Director Matt Sophos.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale pitted Kratos, Nathan Drake, and Sly Cooper against each other as PlayStation’s version to Super Smash Bros.
