iPhone 18 Pro Colors Leak Ahead of September 9 Apple Event

Fresh leaks point to a new color lineup for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max ahead of Apple’s September 9 event, with a burgundy toned “Dark Cherry” shade expected to replace last year’s Cosmic Orange as the line’s signature color.

Dark Cherry Emerges as Consensus Pick

Multiple leakers have converged on Dark Cherry, also described as a maroon leaning burgundy, alongside a new Sky Blue option, according to 9to5Mac. A leaked image showing SIM trays in the new colors, shared by industry insider Sonny Dickson, appeared to corroborate reports of black or gray, Sky Blue, and Dark Cherry as the three launch colors, PhoneArena reported.

Accounts differ on whether Apple will offer a Silver option this year. TechRadar noted that Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital has pointed to a lineup of Dark Cherry, Sky Blue and Black instead, with Silver potentially missing from the final color palette despite appearing in earlier leaked dummy units.

iPhone Ultra Colors Remain Murkier

For Apple’s first foldable iPhone, expected to be marketed as the iPhone Ultra, earlier reports pointed to a simple black and white color scheme, or possibly white only. Leaker Evan Blass claimed on social media that a red version was also coming, though Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman pushed back on that claim, saying Blass’s reference images were unrelated, according to 9to5Mac.

Colors Are Typically Finalized Last

Color options are traditionally among the last details Apple locks in before a launch event, and this year’s speculation has been unusually active given the number of competing leaker claims. The iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone Ultra are set to be unveiled together at Apple’s event next week, according to GSMArena.

Apple has not commented on any of the color leaks, and the company’s official lineup will not be confirmed until the September 9 keynote.

Every year, Apple introduces at least one distinctive new shade for its Pro lineup, and this year’s shift toward a deeper, wine-toned red marks a departure from last year’s brighter Cosmic Orange. Buyers hoping for a specific color will need to wait for Apple’s own presentation, since leaked supply chain images have repeatedly been wrong on fine color details in past launch cycles even when broadly correct on the overall palette.
