Ronaldo in Piers Morgan Interview: "Erik ten Hag wanted me to leave United"

“Manchester United have betrayed me. I have been made black sheep. I do not respect Erik Ten Hag,” Cristiano Ronaldo in Piers Morgan interview stated his belief that Manchester United and manager Erik Ten Hag have tried to drive him out of the club.

During an interview with Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old, who missed Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage due to sickness, made the admission. On Sunday night, an hour after the interview’s stills were made public, excerpts from Morgan’s global exclusive with the United ace were made public.

United did not allow Ronaldo to go during the summer transfer window because he was integral to new manager Ten Hag’s ambitions and he wanted to play in the Champions League. He didn’t go on the club’s preseason trip to Thailand and Australia because of “personal circumstances,” and he hasn’t been able to hold down a starting spot this year.

During the Interview, Cristiano Ronaldo said that his three-month-old daughter has hospitalized earlier this July and because of it, he could not attend the pre-season. According to Cristiano, this doubt from the club hurt him.

“I want the best for Manchester Utd. This is why I come, but you have some things inside the club that don’t help reach the top level as Man City, Liverpool, and even now Arsenal.”

Ronaldo in Piers Morgan Interview said that nothing have changed much since he left, the club legend told Piers Mrgan. He added that the pool, jacuzzi, even the gym, and some technology is still the same.” I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure. I saw things I saw when I was 20!” he exclaimed.

After announcing in August that he would reveal the ‘truth’ in an interview, Ronaldo has confirmed that he feels “betrayed” by United, insisting that Ten Hag and Old Trafford staff tried to force him out.

When Piers Morgan Uncensored asked Ronaldo if United was trying to get him to leave, he said: “Yes. Not just the coach, but also two or three other club members.”

“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief, and togetherness being built among players, manager, staff, and fans,” the club officials added.
