  • Shaheen married Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha.

The wedding ceremony of Pakistani cricket star Shaheen Afridi was held at a local hall in Karachi, attended by several notable personalities, including Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam. Among the esteemed guests were cricket luminaries such as Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan. The wedding festivities commenced with a mehendi ceremony on Monday.

It’s worth mentioning that Shaheen Afridi had tied the knot with Ansha Afridi, the daughter of the legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi, in February earlier in the year. The nikkah, a traditional Islamic wedding ceremony, took place at a local mosque in Karachi in the presence of close relatives from both families. The valima, another significant post-wedding celebration, is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on September 21. The couple’s engagement had taken place two years prior.

Shaheen Afridi shared his heartfelt desire to marry Ansha during an interview on the Geo News show “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath.” He expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was my wish, and Alhumdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty], it is fulfilled now,” blushing in front of the interviewer, Sohail Warraich. When asked whether Ansha feels jealous of his female fan following, Shaheen mentioned that he wasn’t entirely sure about her feelings, adding a touch of humor by saying, “I am not sure, maybe she feels something like that.”

The host also questioned Shaheen about potentially disappointing many female fans by getting engaged at a relatively young age. To this, Shaheen responded with sincerity, saying, “I found my heart, and that’s enough for me.”

In another development, Shaheen Afridi took to social media to dispel speculations of a rift between him and skipper Babar Azam. Reports had suggested disagreements and arguments between the two following Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka in a knockout fixture of the Asia Cup 2023 last week. Sharing a picture with Babar Azam on a social platform, Shaheen captioned it with the word ‘family’ and a heart emoji, signifying that all was well between them.
