Twitter requires age verification for restricted content
  • Some accounts already include a user’s birthdate, therefore that person’s age won’t be a security question.
  • Explicit content, graphic violence, excessive gore, and hostile pictures are all included in the wide categories.

It would appear that Twitter is making an effort to be a socially responsible app by restricting access to restricted content from those under the age of 13. Consequently, Twitter is requiring users to verify their age before accessing restricted material.

Numerous Twitter users have also complained that the service requires them to enter their birthdays when they click on a link in a tweet. Many people are unhappy because they worry about potential privacy issues caused by this function. An apparent request for a birth date is accompanied by a warning that the information provided may be shared with third parties for the purpose of targeted advertising.

Twitter’s sensitive content policy stated that explicit content, graphic violence, excessive gore, and hostile pictures are all included in the wide categories.

Though this feature is launched for certain users right now, Twitter has not stated if it will be deployed globally or in chosen countries.
